I used a ring adapter cut into the crank to put my 390 into a Jeep Cherokee with a turbo 400 . Ring was oem ring or was made from a diagram ( specs ) from a AMC book found somewhere. Sorry I can't remember where , this was done in early 80's

The early crank won’t accept the 727 or the 400 converter.

To do it right, imo, the crank needs to go in a lathe, get the flange cut and a the correct diameter sleeve welded in, or in your case with a cast iron crank pressed in to make it permanent and correct.

What the heck do you need an adapter for ? Use an AMC turbo 400 case.

A stock starter and properly balanced 400 turbo flywheel.
