Picked up a new FiTech catalog at PRI show, and talked with them about there new retro fit TPI harness #38350.  No PROM chips, uses an ECU similar to their LS ... tuning can be done through hand held ... uses all OE sensors.

Just thought I'd bring this thread back, so it's not forgotten.

I completely disagree with your statement !

Put a chevy motor in it is totally disgusting, adapting a part off of another brand to fit and function on an AMC motor is completely acceptable.

heck, my bottom end for my race car has GRP rods in is designed for a small block Chevy.

That's pretty cool,
and nicely done.

I'm surprised the subject it so polarizing,
I guess it's because it's such an iconic intake.

My opinion
I'd rather see TPI Intakes on AMC engines,

than all the big cap HEI distributors out there LOLTongue

I'm with you Rob.
I'm a hardcore AMC guy, and I've been wondering since the early mid '90's, when someone was going to modify the Chevy TPI to work on an AMC V8.
It just makes sense.
The factory is gone...but if they were still around, I imagine that they would have come up with something similar themselves.
If a guy has do-it-yourself skills, he could make this work rather inexpensively...because the aftermarket FI units that I've seen, though nice, are pretty expensive, besides, they weren't around until rather recently.
Also, a creative guy could dress up the TPI unit to make it look more AMC, and a little less Chevy.

Plus...if it can be made to fit a Gen2-3 AMC engine, add one more adapter plate to each side and it'll fit a Gen1.

That's what the '57 Rebel was intended to be.

Well, Indy makes amc heads with 440 Chrysler exhaust ports, I wonder if they could make one with the other side for the TPI. Of course I’m just spitballing because we all know that a 6/71 blower is the real cherry on top!

Cut the plenum and base, weld in or machine a .7" spacer
and make an adapter base out of an Eddy air gap with
the 10 degree error machined in. Ports will line up well
and it would be totally AWESOME.

Water and cross overs would be on the air gap base.

Great idea but a little cutting and machining is needed to make it awesome.
