I've been wanting to make these for a while and a fellow on Facebook needed some so I spent some time working up an improved trunnion dust cap for the 67-69 small body cars.

The original caps were concave, so water could pool in them and then freeze and crack the cap. I have also found some that were melted, so I expect the temps get a little higher in that area than AMC engineers expected. Often the single rib removal "handle" would tear off when taking them out as well.

My caps are a dome shape, so water will run off them and exit through the drain hole in the trunnion. They are made from ABS plastic with 0.080" wall thickness, so they will hold their shape without melting. They also have four raised tabs you can use to twist or pull for removal.

I'm going to have the trunnions out of my AMX shortly for a rebuild.  I'd be in for a set.

you'll eventually pay for it...
and not have it.

I'm thinking about $10 a pair for AMC Forum members, plus $3 shipping. So $13 to your door anywhere USPS provides service.
