Looking for information on what AMC or jeep bell housing to use to install a Tremec TKO trans behind an AMC 360 in a 1969 AMX. Question has probably been answered before, can't find in search. Thanks in advance

I used an RM-8075 Quick Time. My TKO is a GM style.

I Just got a Quote for my TKX transmission swap 1969 SC Rambler from Silver Sport Trainmission they have bell housing for about $400 but you will need to user a Hydrualic throwout bearing with it. They respond quickley to email.
Hope it will work for you Larry

They quit making the TKO back in October. The TKX is the re[;acement and is a much better trans biggest point is it's smaller so less tunnel mods. My clutch is rated to 550 hp and with a smaller bore longer stroke slave cylinder the wife can drive it. You wont regret doing the conversion.

Yes flywheel, pressure plate and disk from Silver Sport. I bought there hyd T.O bearing but after the second one bought a Tilton it also has a bleed line. I used the 7/8 slave on mine. One thing you need to do is center the bell housing to less than .5 run out if you any problem and need warranty they will ask you what your is. I am having an engine built right now and the builder is centering the bell and installing dowels so I wont have to mess with it......Jim

AMCers Hope someone can help answer shifter location Question. Just talked to Silver Sport again about TKX trans swap 1969 SC Rambler. They have a STX Shifter they have worked out to fit AMX and Javelins so it fits into same position in floor without any cutting. They were not sure if SC Rambler shifter was in same position. I am not able at this time to put my Hurst shifter back on trans to give a measurement to them. Do any of you know if there is a difference between the shifter location or is it in the same position?
Thanks much Larry |

They all had T-10s, I'd think it would fit. If swapping from an automatic I'd use the standard shifter position on the centerline of the trans.

My 69 Rambler was not originally a T10 car and the previous owner had installed the AMC T10 using I think a factory plastic bump for the shifter. I installed a Ford style TKO 600 using a short bellhousing and the now defunct Keisler Chevy 2 shifter, forward and offset to left, and the shifter fit perfectly with the T10 hole. The top of the tunnel did have to be raised with the TKO.
