This 1968 AMX along with two others were given to Craig Breedlove back in 1968 to help change the image of American Motors. They did this by taking on the big three in different types of auto racing and record setting events. Craig Breedlove developed an aerodynamic (Aero) body package which included the fiberglass nose, belly pan, hood, and the roof mounted wing. Only 2 sets of the "Aero" packages components were ever made from the molds before the molds were accidently destroyed. By the time Breedlove was done with the program he and his wife Lee Breedlove had broken 109 speed and endurance records and Craig had run this AMX on the Bonneville salt flats at over 170 MPH.
The lettering has been polished off, but the car still has the RWB paint job that Breedlove ran. Also has a roll bar, with a parachute mount attached to the roll bar in the trunk area. The car now has a stock 390 (not running), T10 4 speed trans, and a very nice complete stock interior.

Please contact me for more pictures or information if needed.

This is a genuine piece of American Motors Racing History!!!

Picture of an old picture before I bought the car back in 74-75???

What the Breedlove AMX looks like today!

$75,000   May consider partial trade for B scheme SC/Rambler or SC/360 + $$

Thanks for looking!!

I've always loved this car. I had no idea it had been owned by the same person since the 70s! I also need to play powerball...

Yup, cool car. I would buy it when my lottery numbers come in, along with an AMX/3 clone...

I love this incredible car, so special. 1 of 1 for sure, great story. Here is a video Dennis and I made some years ago about this car. If I had the money I would gladly pay full price for this car.

I was told my Breedlove that the front springs were the same springs used on the Javelin Trans AM race cars. The rest of the suspension is stock as far as I can tell. I think that's because of the class the AMX ran on the salt flats limited modifications that could be done, but that's just a guess.

It currently has a stock fuel tank, and the race engine was replaced with a new stock 390 before I got the car, so if there was anything special done to the fuel system it was removed before I got it.

After buying the car from Breedlove I drove it on the street as daily driver for several months. Then I realized how stupid that was. Talk about and dumb!! LOL!
