Almost 3 years of parts collecting.
4,000 dollars Censored
The parts list:
-indy mod man manifold
-eddy rpm cylinder heads
-69 390 block, crank, rods
-studded main caps
-studded arp rod bolts
- 0.030 undersized mains and rod bearings
- weiand 177 blower, mercuiser edition
-nuts bolts etc.
-Mr. Gasket dual point distributor. But I'm missing the cap
-B.W. T12 or was it 11? (The cast iron one) build with 2500 rpm stall
Things still to buy:
-timing cover
-head gaskets
-camshaft
-timing chain
-carburetor
-accessory drives
-Valve covers
-Rockers and lifters
Just waiting for supply chains to catch up and to save more fund but the first part of the build can begin: here's the top end put on to make sure fitment won't be an issue.
Ill post updates in here as things go along.

Ill dump the internal specs:
-pontiac 455 forged aluminum heads with full floating wrist pins. (I modified the original connecting rods to fit them).
-bored 4.210
-54cc chambers in the heads
-piston to deck clearance is .09 according to factory deck height but with the deck being machined flat its probably less.
- with .025 head gaskets compression would be 9.5:1 so I am going to but some thicker head gaskets to drop compression to 8.5:1 and then add the blower for a nice 12:1
Heres the baby that I hope will run this spark show: an old mr gasket dual point. Maye someone on here knows what cap will fit this?

Heres also how it would look if I ran the Dual quad top plate instead of the blower.

That Mod Man intake will work great with the blower, but it would be an extremely poor intake carbureted. They are like an apple crate with eight legs. Runners are to short and there is way to much plenum to work efficiently. I can tell you this first hand from owning a similar designed intake called a Boogie Man made for a 500" Cadillac.

Looks like you'll have a great running engine before long. Smile

See the screws, but it looks like your cap hold down clips are broken or missing?
Here is a whole distributor to make one:
Pretty sure all the dual point caps for these were the same. Believe they are part #8342:
You can search google images to see this.

Interesting on the 455 pistons, haven't heard of that before, but the compression height and bore works.  Have you actually mocked up for piston to valve clearance to confirm the valve reliefs are in the right spot for AMC valve location and angle?  I got bit by that trying to run chevy pistons.  Wrong angle, not enough meat to put a relief where the piston wasn't designed for it.

Only $4k in parts?  You must've had some of that to start with since the heads are at least half of that.

Building a blower engine with an M12, dual point distributor, factory rods, Pontiac pistons far below deck....  doesn't make sense, but.....

M-12 is a placeholder until I find an appropriate transmission. yes dual points, mechanical fuel pump, all old school. I dont plan to drive it at high rpm much, if I was building a competition street engine than id be doing a lot more crazy stuff like milodon racing oil system. .080 is an estimation. I wont know exactly what until i measure. but even still, with a bore that large, calculations show compression with factory head gaskets at 9.6:1 i even have to use larger gaskets to drop it down. I appreciate your advice

Do the crank mods to run a TF727 or TH400 now before you build the engine, that BW transmission will not last long behind a blown 390.
I've finally given up drinking for good...........now I only drink for evil.
