Can anyone tell me the size of the nut that holds the steering wheel on the shaft for a 1973 non-tilt column? I see both 9/16-18 and 1/2-20 mentioned. I think it changed from 68-9 and 70 up but I'm not sure which is which.

Lug nuts should be 1/2-20. Have one? Try it.

Great idea, but I'm not where the car is right now and wanted to order one so that it's there when I get home. |

For anyone searching this in future, looks like 9/16-18 is it for most 69-75 GM columns. Later GM columns went metric and use a different nut.
