Just heard that our AMC friend Ron Akerman (70 Donohue 390) has unexpectedly passed away. He had just returned to Oregon from his Fathers funeral in Ohio. Ron was one of the first AMC folks I met when I finished my AMX in 2011 and had seen him and his lovely wife at many shows since then enjoying beverages with meals numerous times. You will be missed Ron...

RIP my AMC friend.

That is sad news, doubly so since he was coming back from his dad's funeral. Ron and I are both Dayton Ohio natives....had a little bond that way, in addition to AMCs.

WHAT!??! Shocked
I just read a post by him.  Aw man, that sucks.

He must've had a knack for remembering people.  I sold him one of the 8-track players out of my Javelin something like 129-years ago.  Kibbitzed with him here and there on the forum.  What year was that meet in Oregon City? 2012?  Whatever it was, it had to have been a decade since I sold him that tape player.  Never met the guy before. I looked inside his car when it was at Oregon City.... and I made a comment that the tape deck looked familiar. Little did I realize he was hovering and he said "That's because it WAS yours!" he sticks out his hand "Hi Darrin!".

Nice guy.  I'm gonna miss him.

Oh no! Nice guy, what a loss to the world.

We bought a 70 and a 72 Hornet from him before he moved north (2004? 2005?) We still have the 72. It's getting a new interior now.

Bummer.
