I have cheapie Hedman's on my Cherokee and fought sealing them as well. I bought Remflex PN 1001 and they have held well since. I have also port matched my headers and heads to the gaskets but they still seal with the Remflex gaskets.

Honestly, if the Remflex gaskets are not sealing, I would spring the $210 for a new set of Hedmans.  When they show up, toss the Hedman gaskets in the trash, bolt on your new headers with new Remflex and be done with this.

After you fix the poor alignment of the header flange with the exhaust ports of course.

I mean, it’s a plow truck. If it were mine, I would just replace the headers and gaskets. The Hedman ports are so bad and it’s gonna spend it’s life below 3k RPM so I would just run it. On my crappy headers, the ports were aligned, just really poorly welded at the flange, blocking a solid 30% of the port but I would still just run it on a stock 360.

Here is a blown header gasket I took off a couple of weeks ago, you can clearly see how uneven the clamping is around the ports, so it's hardly surprising people have trouble getting headers to seal:

GARBAGE!!! hahahahahaha!!!! I guess we get what we pay for when we buy a set of brand new headers that are $200 delivered!!!

Here is a thread when I first ground on my headers to clean up the ports:

As a testament to the Remflex gaskets, these pictures were taken AFTER the grinding in the above thread and a couple hundred miles. I had no leaks but notice the carbon witness marks wrap all the way around the weld bead. These 2 were BY FAR the worst but the other 6 ports needed some more love, too.

I ran a new weld bead around the witness marks and opened them even more after these pictures were taken. What a POS set of headers!!!

Took the headers off and I am running stock manifolds with one Borla muffler.  Much better. I did use the Remflex gaskets on my AMX project and they seem to be sealing well, but I did touch up the flanges first.
