Are you talking 70 AMX or Javelin?
74 Hornet Hatchback X twins (since 1977)
62 American Convertible (still worth the $50 I spent in 1973!) AMCRC #513, AMO #384
70 AMX 360 4-speed (since 1981)

I have to find out. I am guessing they are different because you are asking?

I was thinking I heard a performer with Holley style carb works but not sure

Years ago I put a Torker on my Machine which made it too tall to use the stock air cleaner. I got another air cleaner out of early Matador in a junkyard, sectioned it to the correct height and used an Edelbrock Pro-Flow air filter that sat nicely inside the air cleaner tub.

IDK first hand but I recall past discussions saying that the later Javelin-AMX was more forgiving than the 70 Javelin/ AMX/ Machine or the SC Rambler.  Maybe Offenhauser dual port, R4B, Offy 360?

The stock air cleaner was shorter on the later Javelins.  Not sure if that started in '70 or '71.

Torker will require some sort of modification.
My guesstimate with the torker puts the carb/air cleaner 1/2" higher and 1" to the rear.

I have a ‘73 and was told an Offy Equaflow works with the cowl air cleaner/hood. Still can’t quite verify that for you, but that’s what I have.
