I seem to remember reading that someone here found suitable replacement lug nuts for the 14x7 Turbocast II wheels. I'm looking for a set of 20, they don't have to be factory correct but they do need to be the proper shank style nuts. I tried the search feature with no luck, so thanks for any help!

They are reproduced. Contact Chad Quella, phone 804-244-0114 (Eastern time zone!) or e-mail (best) ramblerman@bowlingtech.com. $7 each or $130 a set of 20, not sure if postage is included or not.

Good to know but I just need something inexpensive that works. Even if they're a little different in appearance.

I have a friend who has a 1982 Corvette Collector Edition. The wheels for that series uses the same lug nuts as the Turbo Cast II wheels. I was very surprised. This may be another source for you. I don't know which other years may have also used them.

The Corvette rim of that era did use the same design as the Turbocast unfortunately Chevy used 7/16" wheel studs and AMC is 1/2".  Having been around the tire/wheel business I have always kept an open eye for any of the bigger lug nut makers (ie McGard, Gorilla) who were making anything similar and would work but don't know of any. I don't think I would be in a big hurry to spend $150 on a set of lug nuts but if you want to use them bad enough you may not have an inexpensive option.

If you have one, go to a good local parts store where they will take the time to look in their books. Our local Carquest has ways of finding almost anything.

I finally did purchase a set of the new Turbocast II lugs from Chad Quella (spiritgtman on eBay) for $145 with shipping. I'm really not that cheap but since I plan to sell the car in the spring I was hoping to find something less expensive. But for the money I am very pleased with the quality of the lugs as well as Chad's packaging and fast shipping. A highly recommended product for anyone needing these unique lug nuts. Here are some not so great pics of the Concord's new shoes, I will post some better ones after I pull it back outside.

That's a darn good looking Concord wagon! I suppose you'll be listing it in the classifieds here? I'm not interested in another car myself, but will know where to send people!

I used dorman 611-156. I cut 1/2 off the shank of each with a sawzall to get the correct length.

I talked with Chad Quella, the guy who did the run of reproduction turbocast wheel nuts a few years back, and they are no longer available. He did however enlighten me about how to modify the Corvette lug nuts which come drilled for 7/16" studs, rather than the AMC 1/2" studs. Here's what he wrote:

"Here ya go... The demand for the lugnuts was initially very strong but the last couple years has dropped off to about nil. Also, I see another solution has become available and it will probably be less expensive for you. Look up a company called Ames Performance Engineering. They make Pontiac restoration parts, and they have made a lugnut that is almost right. It is for 78-81 Firebird snowflake wheels. GM wheels use 7/16-20 lug bolts, AMC use 1/2-20. So if you order the Ames product, you can then take them to a local machine shop and have them drill-tap them out the extra 1/16 inch to the 1/20-20 size you need."

update - I looked up Ames Performance, and it looks like they are no longer stocking that lug nut. However, a quick search on eBay yielded this result: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1976-1982-C3-CORVETTE-ALUMINUM-WHEEL-LUG-NUT-SET/182191508676?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160811114145%26meid%3Da622c47c2c2643b9935930055198c260%26pid%3D100667%26rk%3D5%26rkt%3D8%26sd%3D173465667033%26itm%3D182191508676&_trksid=p2045573.c100667.m2042" rel="nofollow - https://www.ebay.com/itm/1976-1982-C3-CORVETTE-ALUMINUM-WHEEL-LUG-NUT-SET/182191508676?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160811114145%26meid%3Da622c47c2c2643b9935930055198c260%26pid%3D100667%26rk%3D5%26rkt%3D8%26sd%3D173465667033%26itm%3D182191508676&_trksid=p2045573.c100667.m2042

Has anything transpired since the last post regarding these lug nuts?

Found a set locally that I'm hoping to get for my dad's 77 Gremlin

Back again -

Got a set of the Dorman 611-248's (GM replacement 7/16 thread nuts referenced above) that I was planning to drill & tap for 1/2-20, however I measured their shank at 0.69" diameter.

The shank bore diameter on the turbocast wheels I have range from 0.734" - 0.750"

Are the turbocast wheels lug-centric or hub-centric?  I feel like the diameter differences is too much, possibly even for a hub-centric setup.

My backup plan is to get a set of the Dorman 611-156's (1/2" nuts with longer shank as mentioned previously) which have a 0.74" shank diameter, and just machine the shank shorter.
