Yes, thanks Tony! The big change is that AMO change the whole show site to the Detroit know by Hilton and parking lot. So we won’t be going to Greenmead, everything will be held on the grounds except for the side trips of course.
That’s a good reminder, folks need to register for their hotel rooms and for the show. If you’re an easier unsure about gas prices Kenosha or other things getting in your way it’s worth the trip especially if you have to cancel almost up to the last minute. AMO will refund monies.
Also reminder that pre-registration for car judging is also not being excepted on Saturday of the day of the show, no exceptions so get in get early and get there. Blessings Richard

That's what he's saying. Ouch With no umbrellas or canopy's allowed for shade, I know my wife won't be happy. I'm going to have to rethink going to this one.

You can still use a golf umbrella etc. I bring my RWB AMC umbrella to every National show I've attended!

Just to help clarify things, EZ-UPS or tents of any kind are not permitted on the show field but are allowed in the swap area, personal umbrellas are allowed. The decision was made to have everything at the host hotel, Sheraton Novi, by a group of AMO Officers for a variety of reasons, there was no cost to the chapter or AMO for the use of the parking lots or the surrounding areas, Hotel offers the opportunity to go inside to A/C and/or get out of the rain, and access to your hotel room, Greenmeade Park did not have this option, just an open field,a blacktop pad and no shade. The hotel has agreed to offer refreshments and food during the show ($$$) Friday and Saturday, one food truck was set up for the park, Hotel has committed a Hospitality Room to show goers just inside from the show field area for an area to grab a drink and sit/rest in a cool area. The hotel also offers multiple restroom facilities indoors, Greenmeade could only offer a few portapots. There would be a short drive to Greenmeade in a busy area, staying at the hotel allows participants the opportunity to not travel, one place allows all the items needed to all show goers. In short, the decision was made with the consideration of the health and safety, as well, as comfort to all those attending.

Have you ever been to an AMO show where the show/swap meet was in the same parking area as the trailer parking?

There are dedicated areas for each.

No need to worry about being parked with all the trailers, since you are familiar with this location, trailer parking will be in the south parking lot, that has a capacity of 70 to 80 trailers (based on hotel experience) the vendors and show cars (and display cars ) will be in the north lot,(capacity of 250 cars) with cars parked at 2 for every 3 spots. Vendors will be in the north east lot which is located next to north lot. We should have room for everyone without issues.....

So, there are a few rooms still left.

Great DG!
Looking forward to seeing you there!

You're right... you snooze you, well have to go to another hotel.

Also a good time to register with AMO so we can get a count.  When pre registering when you get there you'll just pick up your packet, lanyard and maybe a shirt or 2, and be on your way.

Registering when you get to the show, will take a bit longer, BUT, we'll get you thru as fast as possible, however you register!

Reminder...  There is No Registering on Saturday, the day of the show!  No Exceptions.  So register any way you can.

Getting exciting, with it coming together...
Blessings

Just a Reminder...

IF you are bringing a car to display is the latest goings on with our Big Show in August...  1st of all and most importantly bringing a car to display have judged or in that Car Corral, you Must be a member of AMO to do so.

This has been a rule from the beginning of time for AMO.  In the past you paid $25 for a one day membership to do so.  This has been updated to $35 and you will get a full year membership.  Which also includes the 4 editions of the newsletter magazine for the year.

Blessings
Richard

Just to clarify what Richard has said about participating in the AMO show in Detroit, you must be a member of AMO, membership is available as a digital option for $25 per year, which includes 5 issues of American Motoring Magazine on line, for $35 per year you receive 5 issues of the magazine as a hard copy mailed to you. So to simplify things if you are just showing your car as "Display" it will cost $25 for display and $25 to join AMO for a total of $50. This will also include any cars being displayed as "Specialty Cars" in the Special areas.

Thanks, Hope to see you there

Saw on the registration form for the show that Saturday nights banquet tickets are 60 bucks a head.  Seems a little high priced when it's usually around 30-35.  Hate to say it but I think they might have an awful small turnout based on the price.

Absolutely agree. Way too much for banquet food. And I say its a shame that the paying membership doesn’t have access to hear the guest speakers.

$60 is a bargain if Randy is providing entertainment like at Gettysburg.

We contracted for dinners in 2019, so that kept the price down.
The dinners are costing us $45.00 each then there's like 32% hotel taxes, gratuities, and state taxes.  Bringing the total to like $59, so we rounded it up.

Almost all photos from the Kenosha and the Detroit AMO meet are on Facebook now .  I blame photo bucket to large extent for this . You give away a free service for years and then try and charge for some you let every one us for free, well that seems to have not go over well for photo bucket and because Facebook makes posting photos  there so easy every one went there.
