shall we?

Here's the deal -
1. Submit ONE (1, UNO, UN, EIN, UM, 1개 ,одно)  Photo per car.

2. The car must be YOUR OWN car, or a car for which you have PERMISSION to post a photo
(example, that of another forum member who may have troubles posting photos)
OR nominate another member's car (example, you really like farna's Rambler and want to nominate it)

3. The car must be owned by a forum member! (not something cool you find on the web or from 20 years ago, not a copy of another calendar car photo - this is for cars owned by current forum members only, at least this go-round.)

4. After nominations close (length of time determined by how long it takes to get a GOOD selection of photos/cars - we'll go until we have at least 24 photos - I hope) we'll put up a vote - the top 12 vote-getters will be on the calendar in random order, unless.........

5. If you have your car dressed for a certain month, say an Eagle playing in the snow, it will be used for a winter month. If it's dressed in Christmas lights, it will make December, for example.

6. Be creative in how you pose your car, but torquey had some good tips in another post for shooting your car - don't make it look like it has a light pole for a radio antenna, for example.
Let's try to get ALL sorts - an AMX on it's rear haunches is great, but 12 months worth, well, let's include ALL AMCs, including Ramblers of any sort, Eagles, Jeeps (the AMC era Jeep, not your Liberty), Pacers, etc. Afterall, this is a forum for ALL AMC people, not just AMX racers.

7. Any that don't follow the above, well, sorry........................

8. Depending on how things go, we may have a vote for cover car, and perhaps we can go for "worst case of neglect ever seen" for the back page.

PLEASE MAKE ALL SUBMISSIONS IN THIS SAME THREAD!

Thank you, and good luck!

My 1973 Javelin at a show a couple years ago. The photo was taken for a calendar that wasnt made. I have a much higher resolution if needed. Which brings up another point Bill, you should let eveyone know you will need a high resolution picture if picked and what that resolution needs to be.  Will this be a hardcopy calendar or a pdf (or simular) one people will print themselfs?

NO SHAME in that car! Nice wagon.
That's the point - get some of these other beauties out there to see - and end up on the calendar.
From Rambler Classics to Gremlins and Pacers, they are all AMC

Man, that's slick TorqueyAMX, I gotta get some better graphics editor software.
I knew there would be "input" on the Power Pole in the picture, they were taken impromtu.
Who says Muscle Cars aren't "Green" Wink
I, like I'm sure all y'all, aint "real happy" about payin' the 'lectric bill as it is allready Cry
Now have an "excuse" to find a nice location and take time for another "photo shoot" Approve
Any chosen pictures I would guess billd will want high resolution larger files to actually use for the calendar.
Folks have all posted nice pictures of their cars Cool

Sorry Phat, I couldn't help it! The software I use you can't get anymore.

As far as the power pole, maybe you can put one of those "Hybrid" stickers on the car and use the Car Pool Lane!LOL

Just follow the rules and examples in the early thread.

From the exif data on the picture (text stored in the image to identify stuff such as time created) it looks like he used "CompuPic", there's still a version of it out, it's a bit old, but it's there:
http://www.photodex.com/downloads/products/compupicpro - http://www.photodex.com/downloads/products/compupicpro

Gimp is a good free image manipulation tool, it's free and open source so there are a lot of people out there using it and developing for it, it just isn't as smooth to use for stuff as Photoshop in my opinion, I still use it the most though.

It's a program called "Fauve Matisse". Unfortunately, it was sold off and I think absorbed by Macromedia and allowed to just go away.

It's simple and fast.  I used Compupic Pro to resized things and Fauve Matisse to manipulate things. I also have old MGI Photosuite to do other things.

Hey, I had a 2 door version of that car in 1977 for a Winter Beater (Same Color). Paid $325.00 for it and started all winter long in Minnesota. A girl pulled out in front of me at an intersection and spun me around into the side of a "Snap-On" Tool Truck!

Before HER Insurance agent came out to look at the car, I had it washed and cleaned. He wrote me a check for $800.00 and let me keep the car. I bought the guy in our Body Shop a Six Pack of Beer to pull the fender out and put a new Headlamp back in it. Sold the car in the spring for $150.00

$625.00 profit! minus the Beer!LOL

Remember - one photo per car, if there are multiple, the mod/admin who sorts the thread for a final vote by members will choose the pic to be used in voting......
HOWEVER, feel free to post any photos of your AMC in the photos area! We Do love pictures of AMC, just that for the voting, we need the submitter to choose the photo that best represents their car in their opinion, otherwise, we'll choose for you. (and it ain't gonna be too easy! LOL)

You may need to recude size to post here........ but if a car/photo is voted into the calendar and the image submitted doesn't translate well to printing (they will be PDF, members can print to paper) we can simply ask you to "email in" a larger image/file.  So - keep large originals if you need to shrink them to post here.

As promised, here is my '64 American 330!

Also, with the 'Pictures of Engines' debate, why not have a main picture of the car, but with 4 smaller pictures down the left hand side of the frame. A picture of the engine, interior, badge on the left for example.

In order to have time to compile into a thread for voting (and this is taking forever to sort out! WOW! I guess that's a GOOD problem to have, thought)
AND to allow TIME for voting, then time for putting it all together, need to lock this down, so as of now, we've got to close the nomination process.
I'm going to try to creat one SIMPLE thread with only the photos for voting.
MAYBE for next time (assuming this goes well!) we'll have everyone submit ONE outside shot, ONE engine shot and ONE interior shot and find a way to arrange them as there are some really great interiors and engine compartments. Even a CORRECT & STOCK engine bay can be a thing of beauty....

I just hope this does not become just a AMX calender.  There is alot of other AMC cars worth including in the project.

I agree - I love to see the Ramblers of all sorts (Classics, Americans, EARLY Ramblers, etc), Matadors, Gremlins, Eagles, etc.  (My own eagles are hardly worth taking photos of at this point so won't bother)
I'll have to take a closer look (I'v not gone over a couple of the pages yet) is YOUR American in there?
That's a great color, so sharp...........
I'm hoping ALL members vote and consider ALL cars. AMC had some true greats beyond the Javelin/AMX lines. I'm hoping some Americans, and some STOCK cars make it in, personally.
