I'm trying to restore the Rallye Gauge Cluster on my 71 Javelin SST.
I removed the gauge cluster from the dash and took it apart to change the lens, replace printed circuit board, etc.

While I'm at it, I waned to remove the speedometer from the housing so I could grease/oil it but I am unable to pull it out of the housing.  I removed the (2) screws form the back of the housing but the speedometer does not budge and it feel like I'm about the break the plastic housing.

Is there a trick to removing the gauges from the housing ?

Thanks
Mike

No, it should come right out but on mine there was a piece of rubber between the back of the head and the housing which if it got hot it could stick it on there pretty good. I've had others that didn't have that rubber so who knows what got it and what didn't.
