Still in idea stage, formulating ideas and figuring out details, but this area will be used for members to post photos for use in a calendar, nominate other members's cars, their own cars, vote on photos to include in the calendar, etc.
It will most likely be a PDF version only, unless other ideas arise and with nearly 2,000 members, there's bound to be some great ideas.
Start thinking and planning, etc. and get some good photos of your cars!
Ideally this will include ALL AMCs, from Rambler Americans to Eagles and everything in between - stock or none-stock, Jeeps or cars.
I'd hate to see it limited to only AMX and dragstrip cars......... we've got some mighty fine Ramblers here that their owners should be proud of. No restrictions on country/location, car model, etc. - ANY AMC can be featured.

I've done clubs calendar for the last two years. I got alot for photos.
I got 723 photos on two photobucket accounts not all cars. And over 20 CD of photos form car show back to AMO 2002 and NAMDRA 2003. More just on my hard drive.
I'll see if I can pick just 12.

One thought is to have members submit a photo of their car or another member's car (the nomination process) and have other members vote.
Ideally, at least IMO, they should be forum member cars.......... to make it truly a forum calendar.

 Here's the plan.............
Submit photo of your own car, or nominate another forum member's car. Please do not post photos of other cars without owner permission!
One GOOD photo per entry.
Members will then vote after nominations close.
The top 12 vote getters will be featured on a calendar.
It will be PDF format, but I've wondered - if someone was a publisher, about offering some printed copies for sale with some of the proceeds going to forum support.....
I don't know if we have someone here who has such abilities who would be willing to make such a sacrifice?
Otherwise members would download the PDF and print their own.............

How about derelict cars? I have a Hemmings calendar over my desk with pics of derelicts - kind of a cars in barns idea. I forget how they titled it and I'm not at work today since it's a holiday. Billd, Sounds real good to me. I like the idea of forum members voting to select the cars as it means that it is a real forum calendar. I also agree that we must represent many different models. The hard part will be selecting just 12. Cheers ------------- 67 American 440 Sedan (RHD) |

Sounds like a challange picking just 12 from the variety of cars AMC produced over the years. Where do we start? Random vehicle picks or commit to upcoming calender years devoted to one model specifically? Maybe more than one vehicle/model per month. Just 12? How many of those are goning to be 2 seaters? Are we raising $ for the forum, Hanna or what? |
