Hello all,

I had to rebuild my carb last week on my Pacer (L6 258 CI)

No more black smoke, wich is a good thing, but the engine has big trouble to start when cold. After it has been started once, I can start instantly start for the rest of the day.

I have checked the timing and it is set on 5°, the spark plugs are new.

Has someone got an advice?

have you checked the choke to make sure it's operable?

Yes the choke is operable.
I even tried to force it closed or open manually, but it makes no difference.

Same as above, but I've always suggested people watch a MOPAR video on the do's and don't on driving with a properly functioning carburetor.

it could be your float adjustment might be to high .if you have to hold the peddle to the floor like it flooded that would be a indicator /take a look down the carb right after shut down see if its dripping fuel
