Obtain a TSM, they are handy.

I assume a grounding issue. Check engine ground at the motor mount and ground cable from battery to engine.

Points set at .170" ish should be in the ball park.

Check ignition switch on the steering column for proper operation. They become crusty with age, and wear out. I had my 73 Javelin ignition switch harden with time, from California heat in the mid 80s. Roughly 10 years since driven off the line.

Would Uncle Ishy be able to jump the starter solenoid if the neutral safety switch was bad or mis-aligned?  Anyone have a wiring diagram?

74 on up has interlock. 73 has the buzzer only. 71 are like previous years. He said spark issues not crank issues. If cranking does not happen in park and only works in Neutral, the neautral saftey switch is the problem. ENGINE Ground issues will not allow coil to collapse the field when points close... thus no spark.

after all of that.. i would suggest you pull the distributor cap and see if the rotor moves when cranking.
