    Posted: Jul/22/2020 at 12:19pm
I've been talking to Moroso and the aluminum pan AR posted for the SEMA project is slated to be made available sometime in the near, I think, future.

I also talked to them about producing a steel factory replacement pan similar to the "factory appearing" pan I make for customer engines.

It is slightly deeper than factory which holds 7.5-8 quarts with an FL1A quart filter.

It seems there is an excellent possibility that Moroso will produce a steel pan similar to what I make only it will have the rear drain like the older oil pans.

It will have a pickup similar to the canton road race pan which I use for my pans.

This would be a performance and or factory replacement pan without the aluminum pan price.

Is there any interest in such a pan.

Personally, if a pan that takes away 0 to 1/2" clearance over factory, yet it holds 7-7.5 quarts without filter at a very reasonable price, is a no brainer for almost any application.

My pan next to a Crown aftermarket pan. The new Morose would be similar to my pan with a rear drain.

Just a suggestion..... perhaps the entire pan could be a bit deeper for those who might want to run a windage tray. I did one a while back and it worked really nicely. No clearance problems with the engine cradle.

The pan I pictured is 1/2" deeper than factory and the new Moroso will be similar or factory depth.

The extra capacity will come from the wider more square bottom.

The price point looks like it will be within 25-50 dollars of the Crown stock replacement or similar currently available.

Good idea for the stock look.  Just hope it stays within that price range.
