After years of trying to find the name of the Portsmouth, Virginia dealership where my 1970 AMX was originally sold, I contacted the public library in Portsmouth and a gentleman there was able to find McRae Rambler, 1401 Airline Blvd, Portsmouth, Virginia. This was the name of the dealership in 1970. In later years its name changed to McRae American Jeep Honda, but for the purposes of my reproduction window sticker from 1970, McRae Rambler works just fine!

If members are interested, I can start uploading photographs of the AMC advertisements from 1970 that list most, if not all, of the AMC dealerships in a particular state. I've already posted the Massachusetts dealers, this one is for the dealerships in Illinois. It's only a portion of the whole advertisement.

Hi Jeff,
Unfortunately, Florida was not one of the states for which I found AMC dealership information. I'll keep checking the archives periodically, as you never know what newspapers may get entered into the database.

I have acquired a 1968 AMC Rebel 770 which has been in the family since it was purchased new by my Grandfather on 10/11/1967. I have all the original paperwork which has the below info. It was $3416.15 minus his Trade in of $600.15 (traded a Buick).
Dealer Info:
Alliance Rambler  (Some paperwork says "Alliance Rambler & Jeep")
324 East 3rd St.
Alliance, Nebraska 69301
Dealer Code 24-5585

Firkins in Bradenton, FL is still in business and family-owned. I just went by there recently. They now sell Chrysler-Jeep products.

They were an AMC-Jeep dealer back in the day and right up to the transition from AMC to Chrysler. I’ve ordered quite a few parts through them. They use a micro-fiche to look up the AMC parts, lol.

GrandmasRebel -- Thanks for that add, didn't have that one! If one of the papers have a phone number could you post that or message me? I know it's out dated, really just useful if someone wants to re-create a window sticker.

Alliance Rambler phone # was 762-1300. Current area code in that area is 308, however, only the 7 digit number was printed on the original keychain I have. Dick and Gene Engelhaupt were the owners.
