I ordered floor mats from Legendary and just thought I would share a picture in case someone was interested in them. Very pliable and soft, I think it will be a nice addition to my car. (Warning: They are not the cheapest things in the world but if you want new and the original look its about all we have as far as I know).

I bought a black set and they are very high quality. They manufacture the matts in house.

Go to their website, I am not affiliated with Legendary, I simply wanted to show what I thought was a good option for us.

They will mail you an AMC book if you wish (with what they sell for AMC's) or give them a call.

I bought a tan set of these years ago from Kennedy for $200 or so plus shipping. They are good quality.

That being said:
1.) The tan set gets dirty very quickly and it’s difficult to get them really clean. Darker colors may not have this issue.
2.) There aren’t any nibs or bumps on the back to prevent them from slipping or moving around - I don’t know if originals have the nibs since I’ve never seen a pair, but these reproductions move around quite a bit on my new-ish carpet. With an automatic it’s interesting, with a manual it may be borderline scary.

thanks for posting....do your mats have the "nibs" on the back side to prevent movement?

No Nibs on bottom which has me a little disappointed now, as I am not a fan on floor mats moving around. Maybe I will add some velcro or something to bottom if it becomes an issue for me as well?

Tom

No NIBS on bottom side to be clear

The originals that I have do have some "traction nubs" on the back.  Not sure why they didn't add these as it's just drilling some holes in the mold.
