This would be a good place to ask: Has anyone or anyone here know of someone ever in the history of AMC done this? A four door sedan to 2 door post conversion. like what people do with the Chevys or Chrysler A body stuff? like Image a 4 door ambassador turned into a 2 door post car. I know they never made one but i figured it could look good if they did.

Most doing the Chev conversions are getting the compete longer "2 doors" for the conversion that you can buy new!
Also you can still get the glass and mechanisms new to fit a lengthened door.
Don't know what the Chrysler or Ford people are doing, but this is a popular conversion.
Don't know how easy that would be for an AMC.
Cannot see why it cannot be done, but would be a lot easier if you had 2x donor doors and glass for this project.

As an aside, it’s funny to go to all this bother when the vast majority of new cars/SUV’s/Crossovers are all 4-doors

I've seen a 67-69 American wagon made into a 2-door.  Like said above, they used 2-door doors and moved the B-pillar back, then filled the are where the rear door was.  It looked really good, kind of a Nomad look.

you'll eventually pay for it...
and not have it.

Ambassadors don't get all lot of money whether they are 2, 4, or 50 doors. If you're doing this for re-sale value, you would get upside down very quickly.

The only reason to do this conversion would be because you can, and want to. You would probably want to start with a Rebel or Matador donor car for all the parts needed.

My brother converted his 4 door 69 American wagon to a 2 door post wagon. He moved the B pillar back, used 2 door front doors and 2 door post sedan rear windows for the small windows where the back doors were. It looked like a factory 2 foot wagon. A Dodge truck on my brother’s side of the center line totaled that nice wagon.
