well thought this might be the best place to ask or any inputs.....
since you all have been there done that so ill take all suggestions ...
1)  performance intake .. rpm 2500 to 6000
2) Efi carb settup
3) roller cam and lifters..maybe higher lift valve springs.??...2500 to 6000. need to work with edelbrock alluminun heads( already have roller rocker arms) on a 1970 390 engine...and got me some American racing headers on the way..
Sc397 is building my engine .. but $hit takes so long to get i need to order and at least get on a waiting list..
also running a 5speed tremec tkx first gear is  3.27 so dont need a stall converter...
off to work to put in more overtime...damn $hit got expensive since 1986..

Ready set Goooo!!!

Are you sure you want a cam 2500-6000 RPM with a manual transmission?
At that bottom RPM level, this will not be street friendly.
I'm assuming this is strictly a drag car build.
For a street build you need a cam that has a bottom end of 1200 to 1800 to not be riding/wearing the clutch.
Have to agree - what does Rick recommend? Make some calls to Bullet or ...

Which 5 speed are you running, and what rear gears?  What is your intended use (cruiser, street/strip, etc)?

I would think that Rick would have a really good idea what you should run.  You could also give the tech line at Bullet (or another cam company) a call.  They get these questions all the time.

Would be hard to go past the Edelbrock victor intake with the injection.
I've finally given up drinking for good...........now I only drink for evil.

Edelbrock Pro-Flow 4 and you have the victor manifold and fuel injection in one package.

Take a look at this page:
These guys are making Chev grind cams for and AMC. It's backwards. An AMC needs the intake cylinder charge more then the exhaust - especially with an Edelbrock head.
If you want the 6000 RPM top range, then this would be the off the shelf camshaft in my opinion:
But it's still not right. Put 1.7 rocker ratio and it's getting close to the 600 HP range.
That's if your plan is to drive this car on the street also.

Probably about the same money as a victor and sniper setup also.

Wouldn't it be best to ask SC397 these questions?
