So there would be a few lurking around the place if you went looking. There are a few Gremlins around even though they were never sold here, well except for one i believe.

As well as your usual private imports, it seems quite a few cars came here with US military personnel when they were stationed here.

You know .. I started reading this thread thinking, "hmm importing a Javelin .. lot of work for something you can buy locally" .. took me reading this post to remember I had one of those imported cars!! :)  I'm OzJavelin .. from the other forum .. broke my original login here .. :(

BTW: I didn't import it .. one of the guys - Craig from the AM Javelin Register - imported it.  He has imported quite a number of LHD AMCs .. has a really nice green AMX Humpster at the moment ..

Yes, no different to importing any other brand-x car really. Reasonabley viable for something that is a little bit desirable and where the $4K or so import bill is not a deal breaker, particularly considering the high aussie dollar at the moment and relatively tough economic conditions in the US. Plenty of bargains to be had over there at the moment. It's also a lot easier to register LHD cars these days so no need to convert.
Here is what would have to be another import, particularly considering that the driver is sitting on the wrong side of the car:
