Hello,

It's been a while since I visited - The Rambler has been running well - haven't needed help - oops, spoke too soon. lately when starting the car - if it doesn't catch right away the engine will keep turning over even when the key is turned off.

I expect it is not unusual in older cars - things get worn etc. I am leaning toward a new ignition switch.

Thought I would ask if anyone has any other thoughts on the matter.

The car is a 1964 Rambler Classic 770 - 2DR HT - 287 V8 - 4 Barrel - automatic.

If anyone has knowledge of the correct ignition switch and where to get it, that would be great.

Other than that - thank you for listening - appreciate any advise you can give.

Noel

Had that happen to mine, and it was the starter hanging up, not the ignition switch. I guess it could be the switch, but check the starter first, it would suck to change the switch, and it still happens - don't ask me how I know - LOL!
