How do you get the back seat out of a '76 Gremlin?

Helping a friend strip down a '76 Gremlin and we're stumped on the back seat.  Getting the seat BACK out was easy but how do you remove the two lower pieces? It feels like it's bolted on somewhere but we can't see much.
I am genetically incapable of being Politically Correct.

Should be a 'push' in and lift fit.

That's what I thought too, but it was being stubborn.  Car is REALLY rusty so, I hope I don't have to get medieval on it.

He's struggling with the seat bottom, not the seat back! :)
