Well we can all now use that as a check list if doing a build, not copying the parts exactly but as a general list. What did you think of their nylon distributor button ? Have you also seen this one from them, they stretch the 304 bore to fit Edelbrock heads, add $3k to your build for the Pro-Flo 4 & pump. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-xeB-m9wB8

If you are asking me....
The way he did it is a good idea. It is nothing new, Mr. Landis has done something like that before. Some people just polish the bolt head and shim it out with washers and call it a day. Another way to do it is to use a GM cam retainer but this requires some machining, drilling and tapping. I think Nick Alfano has a kit for this system. You can see where I drilled and tapped the block for a 1/4-20 screw to hold the retainer in place. Also shown is the restricter hole for the driver's side lifter galley. Mr. Ketchum uses a .100" hole and so do I. I have only done this on roller cam engines though not flat tappet cams. You have to tap the lifter galley to 1/4" for the restricter.

Thanks, also found a previous discussion about this, as you said, a polished bolt may be enough on ours.

Things to keep in mind when judging a TV show. There is a lot of behind the scenes & politics involved. What you are allowed to say/show & what you are not allowed to say/show. This build has to be over 10 years old by now & many things have changed. Prices have definitely changed & Hotrod show politics have come a long way. |

With the crane roller lifter and that restrictor I burned up a set of lash caps from lack of oil or poor quality caps on the left side. I did replce them and 2nd set lasted but hardly no oil in the heads with the old crane lifters
I drill my blocks now to oil from both galleys. 2-5. Cant drill #1 main on the left.

You can drill the number one also, but you have to add a sleeve to bridge the gap. Not for the faint of heart lol

Yeah I haven't dove in that deep yet. 2-5 been working good. #1 main feeds 1 rod instead of 2
