There is no HEI direct replacement available. Pertronix units do work good imo.

^^^ This. I've replaced dozens of points sets with the PerTronix sets dating back long before there were drop in HEI distributors for everything under the sun. When they first hit the market they were quite revolutionary and are still a fantastic option in many cases. Today I would opt for one if my original points distributor was in good condition. I've dropped quite a few HEI distributors in as well, both small and large cap, but usually only if the original points distributor needs replacing as well.

Yep, I had an early Pertronix Igniter on the 360 in my Gremlin, good for at least 6500 rpm in my experience, replaced it with a full Holley Sniper Capacitive Discharge system for zero gain in performance.

I like the American Autowire brand the best. A little more expensive but easier to install and works well.

Which ever ignition unit you choose, you will need a new proper Coil. The Ohm rating of Rambler Coil is 1.77 - 2.05 Ohm. Verify what you have and check new product listing. Reusing incorrect coil is possible and Farm Guy...but why risk a new $150+ module.
