It's worth having the exhaust manifold ground flat at a machine shop. Should be cheap and fast. No super precision, but they often warp with time. The the ears break off when you tighten the nuts. One of those every 25 years jobs.

My machine shop did just that, Tom.  The manifold is straight as a razor now but I do have some hi-temp gasket material and thinking I might make one for this.

Still having a heck of a time removing my stuck oil pressure plunger.  Can't get a bite with my SAE taps, so ordered a cheap metric set that should come today.  I'm at the point of trying anything. Wacko

A 12mm tap pulled it out quickly!  One less thing to worry about.

I used the copper spray on mine, haven't fired it yet but hopefully soon.
