Glad to say GAD(Great AMC Day) will continue in honor of the friends that are made and the whole amc family/community.  After Mike said he was going to retire after this year, it raised the big question of who will keep it going and well after GAD this year I'm pretty sure everyone wants me to. It will be a few changes to GAD with me taking it over but will make sure I keep Mike's rules. The main change will be the venue change for the event, it will be moved to Kentucky. My 2 questions for everyone is would everyone like the track  to be a 1/4 or a 1/8th mile for racing and what month should it be. GAD in the past has always been on of the first if not the first amc event of the year and would like to keep it that way. The event will still also be on a Friday most likely.  Please everyone take a moment and give me you thoughts on my questions and what else would you like to see at GAD

That’s awesome. It will be a little closer and I will have my car ready by next year. I would say don’t do it on a holiday weekend. Bad time to travel

First off -  a HUGE THANK YOU! goes to Mike and Ms. Mike for putting this on year after year!
Second off - THANK YOU for carrying the torch and continuing GAD!
Thirdly - I rarely race anything but I prefer to watch the 1/4 mile drags vs the 1/8 mile.

Awesome news! For me it would depend on weather, if the weather is good this time of year keep it going, if you always have rain or snow then change it.

Hey Damian,
That is Great to hear.
imo, I don't care 1/4 or 1/8.   The POS likes either one...
I would say work with which track is closer to the get togethers or make sure the host hotel as ample parking lot room for get togethers.
And Thank you Rick for the kind words. Elsa and I have always busted our humps to have a fun event.
as far as what month...   you are the host, its your call big guy!-)

I think Ohio Valley Dragway in West Point, Kentucky (Just South of Louisville) would be an awesome place to hold it. http://ohiovalleydragway.com/

The one thing that I would make sure of that the people have a place to park a tow rig and trailer safely. Since a lot of guys would be bringing a race car. Let me know if I can help. I help put on the Don Garlets show a couple of times and the Daytona show for last 4 years on the AMC side.

Serious question for everyone, where would people prefer to see GAD(Great AMC Day) 2022 at? Kentucky or Ohio
Currently looking at Edgewater Sports Park in Cleves Ohio, London Dragway in Loudon KY and Us60 Raceway in Hardinsburg KY. Edgewater and London are a 1/4 track,  Us60 is 1/8th. Please take the time and comment below. To keep GAD continuing I need the best turnouts possible, Thanks Damian Terrell

Personally, out of the two choices, I'd prefer if it stayed in Ohio as it's a bit closer for me. I was planning on going this year as I haven't gone in a while and I actually have a car I could bring, but the 95% chance of rain kind of put a damper on it.

Now matter which place you choose, thanks for keeping GAD alive!

Everything so far away from us here. Columbus area was iffy, further won't work. Even Detroit will be pushing it.
There's no easy way to get to any of these places without getting tangled in big metro areas-  Colorado Springs was a breeze - Omaha was just a bump in the road, straight through, little traffic, great roads.
