Good evening everyone

I am looking for some good shops that rebuild motors in the Illinois area by Chicago. Looking to rebuild a 390 motor out of an AMX.

Am willing to travel 2-3 hours from Chicago. Just want a great job done, no Janky sh!t. Suggestions?

Also wanna redo the entire suspension as I have mentioned on earlier forum the car been sitting for more than 40 years in a garage.

Is well versed in AMC engines. Stockers, strokers, street, race doesn't matter.

Auto Machine Inc, in St Charles did a motor for Me in 2012 and did a great job. They even had a handful of 343 blocks lying around.

If you don't mind a trip over to Michigan I would say without question Rick Jones (SC397). Right here on the forum daily and more than willing to share his years of experience freely to anyone that needs help.

Well there is Alfanoperformance.com Kenosha Wi.

But I would recommend  Rick Jones (SC397), he saved me money by explaining why I didn`t need various performance parts, some shops would have just done what I asked and not explained. He has built hundreds of  V8 AMC`s for street & racing. Warning, because he`s good he`s usually busy :-)
