On a 64 classic with air, I'm reworking the air and thinking about taking the evaporator out and converting it to o-ring seals. The flare fittings are really tight and I'm afraid I'll break something, or at least not be able to get it back together tight enough with the flares not to have them leak. So, thinking about pulling the whole thing out and soldering on new fittings to the evaporator. That way I can also replace the missing insulation etc.
TSM makes it sound like a 15 minute job.

Just like the book says, 15 minutes no sweat. Got it out, never would have been able to remove the expansion valve while it was under the dash.
