Bob, you took the words right out of my mouth. I’m sorry to hear about your buddy and also about the previous gentleman. My wife and I have also had the disease and neither one of us is vaccinated nor will we be. Early treatment is key. Not getting political or acting like a doctor but everybody has to make his or her own decision on this one. Thanks for what everybody does on this forum. I really appreciate it. God bless.
Sorry to hear about your friend. I have personally lost friends to covid that have been both vaxed and unvaxed. And my wife and I are both dealing with Covid ourselves at this time.
Thank you all for the great response. I know this is not the place for this subject but as you can see by the picture Jess was a total AMX guy and this was his Memorial picture. He was also a forum member.

The unvaccinated people that posted here that have had mild cases have been very lucky. But your luck will not last forever; this isn't going to go away.
I have a friend, mid 50s, not a marathon runner, but not obese and no health issues; he was in the hospital for 6 months with covid; on a ventilator for 3. Got sick before the vaccines were available.
His lungs are probably 90% destroyed. He can't walk up a flight of stairs without 4 SLPM 02. He wears a backpack with a bottle of 02 in it and is lucky to be alive as he died 3 times in the hospital, but they were able to revive him.
So do you feel lucky?
I don't know anyone that has had their lungs destroyed by "the flu". Nor do I know anyone healthy that has died from it. But I know both that have from covid.
Don't get vaccinated, fine. But don't show up at the hospital when you get covid and risk the lives of the people that work there. Instead, go to the farm store and get some horse medicine....
Sorry to hear of the loss of this AMCer and friend. We do have a In Memoriam section of the Forum, specially made for sharing memories and losses.
I don't want us to devolve into a Covid/Vax/Anti-vax battle here.
