your best bet would be to build a real tube frame with modern design and then you can make it world class instead of dealing with that frame

Awesome work Leon, thanks for the pictures! There are four of us now building AMX/3 replicas all over the world. It's a race and my money is on Leon to be the first to the finish line. Keep up the good work Leon. More than 50 years ago AMC spent many millions of dollars having AMC, Bizzarrini, Italdesign and BMW do the design, engineering and testing on these wonderful cars. Even after all that, there were still bugs to work out, it was not perfect. What you are doing Leon is a Herculean effort to be the guy who brings back a legend. Dave, Could you elaborate on what a "real tube frame with modern design" would offer in comparison to what Leon is building? What kind of a budget are we talking? Do you consider a Superformance GT40 chassis to be a modern design? Thanks, Tom PS Leon's chassis is a custom V8 longitudinal drive train chassis, build by Dave Ward, who is the Team Manager of the Big Red Camaro. C4 steering and brakes with four corner coil overs.

Received the clutch & flywheel from KEP.
Trying out some Cobra Classic RS seats. Seat back is a bit too upright, will have an upholstery make some mods to it. Gathering some parts for the engine, looking at fitment and clearance issues.

Got some new tires, need to determine wheel offset. Have an Aviaid dry sump system for the engine, need to fab some brackets. The intake needs some mods for the blower.
Still waiting on the transaxle. |

Looking great Leon! I am interested in hearing more about the tools you are using to hold the tires in place and calculate the offset. The blower looks Bad A**! Keep up the awesome progress.
