First Gear,
I have loved the 232 and od trans. It will kick down at 55 at wot and if I am below cruising speed I shift down to 2nd. I don't beat on this car but I do keep up with traffic. I can feel a world of difference between the 199 1bbl in the lighter 68 American and the 232 2bbl in the 770 Classic.

FSJunkie,
Thanks for the advice and a couple of follow up questions. 1) The threads on the two studs for the pipe flange are good enough to chase and use and I'll use brass nuts. Do you know what the size is for the chase I need to use? 2) I have a black "silicone"? donut, will that work or should I order the greyish silvery one? 3)and4) Surprisingly the heat riser is functioning perfectly and the choke heat tube is undamaged. Is there any maintenance on these while I have the manifolds off? 5) If I don't get in a hurry and just bolt everything together, what rattle color will match the 66 AMC red motor color? |
