I'm going to be repainting my 82 Eagle and I wanted to see if anyone had a guide on how to remove the chrome trim without breaking the fasteners.  Tried searching and couldn't find anything, apologies if this is a repost.

There is a little spring steel tool specially made to slip under the molding and release the tension on those clips.

Go to any supplier that services body shops, it will probably be hanging on the wall with their other body tools.

Do you know what it's called?  Don't have a lot of body supply shops out here.

It's called a windshield trim removal tool.

I live in the sticks too, but there's a supplier 20 miles away. Some NAPAs, Advance Auto, etc. might have it.

The working end of the tool looks like a big flat arrowhead.

Look up the tool's name on Google images.

Thanks guys, you're awesome Thumbs Up.  Does this work for all of the Eagles trim or just the windshield?
