I would be very confident in saying that this is NOT a factory lug nut. (JFox post)

That chrome solid lug nut is not factory. AMC started using the solid type in 1970 due to the Machine wheel and used on all models with magnum 500 as well. The later year style was different at the top, it had circles at the top

I think the picture at the start of this topic is the correct stainless covered nut that would have been on a 68....The later nuts (70 up) were chrome but very similer if not exactly like the covered nuts.

The picture that I just posted is for 1968, 1969 with magnum 500 wheels, chrome wheels or painted

One easy way to tell is the nut inside the cap has a blue di-chromate finish on the original ones.
