I was wondering who sells a powersteering pump rebuild kit for a 69 AMC pump (that's leaked since it was new).
And where is the best place to order a new quick ratio powersteering gear box from.
I under stand a later model one off of a Trans Am Pontiac will work.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Mike

You should even be able to order a kit from a good local parts vendor. But that's not the problem. Unless you have a good size press to press the power steering pump pulley off, you most likely will not get any where. I tried using a gear puller years ago and bent to pulley into a pretzel ! The pump is pretty simple , just hard to get apart unless you get that pulley off. It's pretty much a PITA job. Unless your a stock person, that just got to have the correct model year power steering pump my recommendation would be to that the pump and bracket off and drop the whole mess in the garbage can ! Get a later style GM Delco type used on the later AMC V-8s and use that . they bolt on.  They DO NOT leak and give no trouble.
As for the power steering gear box every one wants one of the good Pontiac T/A boxes. They are hard to get. They are I believe two types of boxes, some mount with 3 bolts and some with four bolts. The AMCs use the four bolt box primarily ,I believe. There only a couple different parts on the T/A boxes, the gears and a torsion bar , and they can be replaced in a rebuild , which is what I'd recommend for the gear box instead of looking for a rare  Pontiac box that may cost your even more money then rebuilding the box you have. Been there , done that on both counts. LRDaum

Thanks for the info guys. Probably wind up just having the steering gear box rebuilt. I don't really need a quicker ratio anyway.
Will defintely look into getting the rebuild kit for the pump. But I may just have a newer style power steering pump in my spare parts collection.

I had to change a pulley on a pump to a double pulley and it was not easy to get that pulley off. I made a device to pull it off and another device to press it back on.
