Tom's done a LOT with that web page! I've been sending him tid-bits since he started messing with the American and he's added a lot more to that with his own research -- much more than the bits and pieces I've been posting over the years as people ask. Consolidating it in one place was a great idea, I just hope more people appreciate it. I'll continue to help him tweak the page.  I don't know the specs on his cam, but that's one thing I'd like to see on the page -- his and mine. they are ground differently, but seems like we ended up with close to the same results. Galvin knew about my cam and how I've preached that the engine really pepped up with it. He just had another cam company come up with something. I used Lunati, literally called and asked about regrinding for the Rambler 196 OHV, and they asked what I wanted... "just a little more pep? I said "yes" and they sent me a cam -- no more scientific than that! Galvin probably did the same, but may have given more info.

I finally posted the cam specs on the page, < ="-" ="text/; =utf-8">http://wps.com/AMC/195.6OHV/index.html, a little more than half way down. I restored some missing pages lost in the edits. Added piston and rod masses to the 'balance' page. There's probably more.

What I meant to ask was are you doing your own work or is there a shop in LA you trust?
