Yamba Rod Run went well. My old American ran like a charm as usual. Rambler reliability of course. I went the 2.5 hours to Brisbane on Thursday night and travelled the 3 hours down to Yamba on the Friday morning and registered that afternoon. There were plenty of rods and quite a few classics. Saturday morning was fine though a bit cloudy which was great as it didn't get too hot. I caught up with Pokerchip but unfortunately couldn't take him for a ride due to the Rambler being blocked in while on show. Plenty of interest in my 67 American, the usual comment being - "my dad had one of these". Lunch and a leasurely afternoon followed and then the dinner on Saturday night with around 700 in attendance. Sunday dawned clear and sunny for the drive home. The drive went well, again Rambler reliability, though it was quite warm once mid day arrived with temperatures approaching the mid 30s °C. I stopped to help one of the Rod guys out along the way due to a breakdown but we had him on the road again within 1/2 hour. Back at home for a swim by 3:00 pm after some 6 hours on the road, I'll try to stage through Brisbane for the way home next year. Here are a couple of pictures, note Pokerchip parked his American in the shade, lucky bloke. I'll post more photos when I get them from mates.
