rear drums are not interchangeable between an eagle and an AMX.

The AMC vendors are re-sellers, so unless the $100 drums are NOS, there is at least one company still supplying them. Rather than surfing, try stopping by a few retailers. You may, or may not find a better deal.

Ford drums will not work since they have a smaller center hole. I am running AMC drums on my Ford 9", but I had to make a spacer ring to center the drum on the smaller center. If you are not worried about being factory correct, swap out the whole axle assembly from a later model. Hornet, Gremlin, Concord etc rears are a dirrect bolt in for an early AMX except for possibly thr driveshaft rear U joint. I swapped a Spirit AMX rear into a 71 Hornet with no problems at all.
