Which T5 Transmissions can be used? |

I have a line on a manual 2nd generation Javelin, and I've had a WC T5 transmission sitting in my parts horde for a few years that was most likely used in the V6 Camaro/Firebird. I know it's gearset is likely not usable for a V8, but what is needed to fit other T5s into AMCs? Do like, the Ford T5s just need an AMC bellhousing or does the input shaft also need to be swapped?

AMC used T5s, they are very few and not world class (WC). Get one from a Ford Mustang, preferably an earlier one that doesn't have any onboard interface. They are pretty plug and play. I'm using a "169". You need one with a 7.18 input shaft, gearing is your choice: You'll need a Jeep "multi" bell and a Jeep bearing retainer. You already have pedals and a balanced flywheel so you're ahead of the game. There are a ton of good threads right here in the transmission forum:
