I have never seen an AMX with the package shelf intact. Does anyone have any details on the construction, material or size? I was going to cut a piece of plywood to fit between the tunnel and the interior side. I see where there is a listing on ebay but 80 dollars buys a lot better material than 1/4" pressboard. I plan to bring my dog on road trips and he is rather heavy 150+ so I would like it reinforcible. Would heavy foam be a good possibility? Like three inch thick and carved to fit the shape.
Any help would be great

Assume you are talking about the area by the back window of the 2-seaters? And not the package shelf of a Javelin AMX?

It is the area behind the seats beside the driveshaft tunnel. My carpet set is built flat in this area and no matter how much i try all a get are gathers and puckers if i try to push the carpet set down around the tunnel. Sorry, this is on a 70 AMX.

If you are talking the divider between the inside and the trunk, I bought the cheap panel available from the vendors and used it for a template. Cut some 1/4 Masonite and then sandwiched the black cheap panel towards the trunk and the 1/4" on the inside. Then to complete it I covered some 1/2" foam board with black vinyl and put that on the trunk side and used the existing metal edges to hold it into place. I can send some pics tomorrow if that's what you are talking about. BTW it really made the inside quiet compared to stock! If you are talking about the passenger side and driver side pieces that complete the area over the axle, just cut some 1/4" Masonite and fit it in and cover it with dynamax type insulation...

How about just building a squareish / rectangularish 2x4 frame for each side of the hump and put one piece of plywood across both frames. The carpeting will have to be custom.
