For $55 from APD, go with the later style version:

I went with the Ford filter (FL-1A). If the filter has a bypass, then the one in the oil pump bypass is irrelevant. Whichever one opens first is king.

The specification of the FL-1A is for the bypass to open at 11-14 PSI. So I guess it's king.
Wonder what keeps oil pressure at 50 to 70 PSI at 5500 RPM then????

Ok, we do the magic and completely block the pump bypass, not my cay though.
Please give us an update on how it works out.
Will make an interesting read if the engine goes past 4500 RPM doing some rough mathy thing based on the pump that puts out 8 gal/min at 1000 RPM.
A video would be cool!

The 10-11 psi is differential pressure within the oil filter. If the oil is cold, or the filter media is highly restrictive, then the bypass will open. In other words, if it takes more than 11 psi to push oil thru the filter, then the bypass will open.
So if the pump is putting out 50 psi, and the filter is restricting the flow by 5 psi, then the engine will see 45 psi.
