I have a T10.  casting numbers are:

Main case T10P-1B
Tail housing T10P-7A

both are cast iron.  are there aluminum equivalents for either?  basically can I take the guts of this iron case trans and put them in some aluminum case and/or tail housing?

Thanks!

Ford used the T10 aluminum case in the 60's that can be utilized behind Cobra 289's and models with 427's.
3 of 4 bolts should align with the AMC bell housing and the 4th can be made to work.
Gears will transfer over but the countershaft may only be 3/4" and needs to be offset bored for the 7/8".
Examples:
This one is nuts for price:
