Did our first install of the front disc conversion kit the AMC vendors are now selling. This kit just so happened to have been ordered from APD by the car's owner. The kit is very complete. Nothing else required. Very impressive.

Copied from the APD web site:

Includes new parts: rotors with bearing races installed,  pads, caliper hardware, wheel bearings, grease seals, hoses, banjo bolts, copper washers & retainer clips, spindles with Grade 8 mounting hardware, caliper brackets, grease caps & grease cap o-rings, and remanufactured calipers.

First up is the patient. A very nice 70 AMX.

Front drum brakes to be removed and replaced.

The caliper stand is nice and solid. The spindle is the big bearing version.

Done and ready for a road test.

Interesting.  What caliper do they use?

At first glance they look like Bendix calipers. I'll have to take a closer look to be sure. I'll let you know.

Looks like they could do an option for a spindle drop by elongating and adding a few holes.

Curious if these are a better option than the Wilwood kits.  Not THAT much of a price delta, considering these are not cross-slotted and drilled.
