What is the best way to clean the trans screen in a 65 BW trans in a Marlin? Thanks

Just unbolt it and clean it with any basic cleaning solvent. Alcohol, acetone, kersosene, lighter fluid, etc. Dry it off and put it back.

Long time AMC fan. Ambassador 343, AMX 390, Hornet 360, Spirit 304 and Javelin 390. All but javelin bought new.

Thanks, wasn’t sure if brake cleaner would work or if it would react with the trans fluid and degrade it.

Don’t clean it in place. Brake clean is fine as it evaporates very quickly. There’s no chance of fluid contamination.
The trans filter is simply a fine metal screen. |
