Got some interior and vinyl paint from Amark, color appears to be dead on. Started freshening interior pieces.

More to come.

Reproduction seat backs (were black).

Armrest pivot bracket covers (were also black).

Sail panels.

What AMark sells, when they’re not out of stock, always seems to be of top quality. It’s too bad, that for whatever reason, they no longer do the woodgrain restoration for the consoles and dashes. I’m so glad that I was able to get the console overlays for my 69 AMX when I did. The overlays were perfect.
Long time AMC fan. Ambassador 343, AMX 390, Hornet 360, Spirit 304 and Javelin 390. All but javelin bought new.

I used the recommended SEM adhesion promoter. Sadly it doesn't look like that worked very well. Paint scrapes off really easily. I need to find a solution to that. I've used the Bulldog promoter in the past with success. Might try that next.

In my experience, nine times out of ten the culprit is silicon.  It could be from a mold release agent or a later applied interior restorer spray-N-wipe product.

SEM sells a couple different adhesion promoters such as "Vinyl Prep" etc. The one that worked well for me on the turtle backs has "Sand Free" in the name. Might also help to scuff them with a Scotch Brite pad.  Those seatbacks are a pain, but I did get it to adhere eventually.

X2 on the scotch brite pad. Used a fine pad than hit it with the vinyl prep. Seemed to adhere much better. Lee
