Carburetors that sit dry and inactive for long periods of time love to stick their float once fired up again. The dried-up fuel forms a sticky resin in the float bowl that sticks the float open and overflows the carburetor with fuel until the fresh fuel dissolves the resin and frees the float.
Most carburetors have a "float drop" adjustment to make sure the float doesn't contact the bottom of the float bowl when the bowl is empty, so it won't get stuck in anything sticky.

Thanks, I wonder if in ran a fuel/cleaner mix directly through the fuel line if that would clean that out, worth a try then taking the carb apart.

If the carb hasn't been looked at in 10, 20 years I'd just buy a kit and go through it. Cleaning is all the effort, but still just an afternoon task.

Spraying carburetor cleaner in through the bowl vent and tapping on the side of the float bowl with a blunt plastic handle of a screwdriver can often free up a stuck float, but it's probably best to pop the top off the carburetor and have a look in there. You can take the top off a YF in about 3 minutes without removing it from the manifold.
