Of course, but feeling the difference via seat of the pants isn't so easy.  This takes the guess work out of it. Just another tool in the bag, that's all.

Thanks, Cam and Heavy for your insight.  Still unsure whether I want to spend $100
and get an analysis of the entire car vibrating. A buddy brought my wheels to his shop
and spent some balancing time with them, so I know it's not the wheels.  They're near perfect.

Driveline vibe is closer to that of a DA sander. Usually you'll start to pick it up in the mirrors as images distort. If you run a 3.15 gear, then the driveshaft is turning 3.15 X faster than the tires/ rotors and drums

Was he able to run them on a road force machine?
If  there's any irregularity balancing only works if the rubber never comes in contact with the pavement

A sticking brake can feel like the lug nuts are loose, but it sometimes comes and goes.  Old, collapsed brake lines can keep the fluid from returning to the master cylinder.  I have this problem on my '73 right now and am awaiting new hoses.  That said, I don't think there are any old parts on the beautiful Javelin of yours, but you could still have a caliper sticking.  Next time there is a vibration problem pull over and feel if any of your wheels are hot to the touch.
