You can go easy on the brakes but stuff happens - if someone does something dumb in front of you and there’s a panic stop bad things can happen with thin rotors. Also, they’re non-vented so they heat up quick. If I really had to, unless the grooves were really deep, I wouldn’t turn them so as to leave some meat and I’d put on new pads and shim the new/rebuilt calipers per the TSM.

What if I had the shop turn them to 0.450”, and run them like that, even if there a few scores left?  Your thoughts?

Good advice!
These are great brakes, except for extreme stop and go.

How do the 71 up brakes compare?

Even better, because of the vented rotors! Slightly less drag. More options (today) for pad materials. I'm a fan of the KH brakes, even though I don't own any at the moment!

Right now, there are supply chain issues, and I'm not sure anyone has them in stock.
If I were replacing rotors, I think I'd opt for the more expensive (non-stock) drilled and slotted. I have not used them, but since those solid rotors get hot fast-I think it might be worth the extra $$. But those are on backorder too. Normally, Jegs or Summit carries them.
